Ducks on Artificial Grass???

How big is your run and what breeds do you have? Would a 5m2 run be ok for three call ducks?
We got ours from Costco a couple of years ago. We did the dog's side of the yard with the fake grass because they tore my real grass up. We just had pieces leftover from then that just happened to work in the closed in area. I didn't staple or tack to down because I like being able to wash it while it hangs on the fence. I did find that ordering online from Costco was cheaper than getting the rolls of it at the store. That and you can customize the length of it better.

Integrated grass is where it is fixed into the ground, permanently. What breeds do you have?
Oh, shows what I know. :p I think the only negative thing I ever read about it was that is can get really hot in the direct sun. But I think that's more of a problem in the middle of someone's yard. In a run you could just put on a roof or shade cloth.

Right know I have Welsh Harlequin, Saxony, and Cayuga. I think I'm going to sell the Cayuga though. They aren't friendly and don't really fit with my plans. I love the WH and Saxony though; they are so beautiful and calm. What about you?

We keep Appleyards, several colours of calls, white campbell, embden geese, muscovies and a couple of other breeds, all of which have won at at least one show. Do you offer them any plants for shade?

I just have two Jumbo Pekin boys :). They're actually indoor pets that spend time outside daily. Their "small area" that I'm talking about here is about 12'x12'. Otherwise they're inside lounging in front of the fan or in the bigger part of the yard that has the in ground pool and they're swimming.

Did I mention these two clowns have no idea that they are, in fact, ducks?

Appleyards are lovely, what do you think of our exhibition Appleyards? Oh, and we are buying some Rouen ducks from Fife (4 hours away!) to add to our stock. Included is a photo of the exact bird. What do you think of all of the birds?

I was considering Appleyards, they are so pretty, but I went with more WH instead. My flock is fully free range. They have access to about 3 acres and there are some trees and bushes.
