Ducks or chickens!?

Ducks have more personality. Every duck is different. With this in mind every person is different. I cannot stand chicken poop or the smell of processing chickens. Ducks are different. Today I moved the latest brood out of our bathtub brood setup. Duck poop smell does not bother me. Now the scented smell of the bathroom does not smell right.

I can agree that duck poop doesn’t bother me but I don’t know how chickens smell because I’ve never owned one before!

I keep both, and would recommend doing the same.i personally prefer chickens a teenie bit more than ducks but I love my ducks too, they are very loud and act like happy little toddlers, but don’t seem to have an issue with the chickens ( save for a tiny squabble here or there lol) they are pretty messy but we keep their waterer in a large tub that catches most of the splashes  So the coop remains relatively dry. If given enough space each Set of birds should keep to themselves.

My order is quail, chickens, ducks

Simply because my ducks were always too scared of me to be friendly. We kept our ducks dry with no problems (an automatic waterer for water, no pool or pond) with our chickens and the chickens had plenty of places to go to get our of the little mud that was made

You can't just say ALL ducks or ALL chickens are friendly and/or messy. It depends on the breeds too! Some breeds of duck have the capability to fly, some don't. Ducks will splash and get muddy how ever much their coop will allow! Chickens will stink depending on how often you clean or care for them. Different breeds will have different characteristics!
(Orpingtons are usually very friendly, leghorns are kind of flighty but lay lots of eggs)
Have fun with whatever you decide on, (ducks it seems :D)
