I have some flying mallard type ducks and theyre 22 days along now. Theres a bit of excitement going on in there, got pheasants, chukar and a quail hatching and running all over the place.. Do you think this excited the ducks enough to pip early? Either way theyll either come out or they wont.. just wondering if it would be ok if i helped just in case they get stuck in their shells.. or is it too early at 22 days??

22 days is way to early..I never help any ducklings hatching unless they are late. At 22 days they wont have absorbed the blood or yolk yet- any help and you risk rupturing a vein and the little one will bleed to death. Any chance you got the dates wrong and they are a little further ahead??

I would leave them to their own I have had them pip and hatch 8 days later
Cant explain why but has happened
Note on this I also just had a batch hatch at day 34 they pipped and were moving in the egg the whole time
And know for positive my dates werent wrong
So I would just watch and see
