Ducks Resisting Diapers

So this past week my duck diapers that I ordered came in for my two pekin ducks (both around 7 weeks old) and when I tried to put them on they threw A FIT! One is more okay with wearing it than the other but still does not like it. The other one won't tolerate it. It'll struggle and thrash and crash into things until I take it off or it squirms free. My question is is this something that is normal and should I keep trying as a way to sort of get them used to it, or is it a lost cause? I wanted diapers because I don't want to keep them outside all day because they get sad and I have things I need to do inside, but the only inside area where they won't make a mess of the floor is a caged area and they're getting too big for it. Advice or pointers?

I don't think diapers would be normal for ducks, though I know some do it. Do you have a plan for where they will live now that they're almost full-grown? Do you have a predator-proof run and sleeping area outside for them? They will get used to it because they have each other.

They'll probably get used to being outside. If they cry then just let them outside a lot with you, and after some time leave for a minute, come back and give them treats, keep doing so for longer amounts of time and they'll get used to it and probably enjoy it. If you really want to bring them inside sometimes then just put the diaper on loosely for like a minute while feeding them treats and being calm, then take it off. Do this multiple times a day until he/she gets comfortable in it.

Can you send some pictures too??

I just want to make it clear so you guys don't think I'm being cruel to them that I have no intention of keeping them inside their whole lives. I know based on their behavior that they like it better outside and if they're kept inside too long the squawk until I let them out. My mom ordered a coop for them (like a $1000 one) and it said it will arrive here sometime in June so yes I do have a plan for a predator proof pen. The only reason I got diapers is because I wanted to give them more freedom and if they wanted to come inside they could without making a mess everywhere. If I leave them outside long enough they eventually quiet down but if nobody's outside with them all they'll do is sit by the door. I know I need to get them used to being outside but it was just an idea.

That sounds good. I know my ducks love to be near us, and when I let them out of their run they gravitate towards wherever I am in the yard. They also like to come and hang out by my glass door when I'm inside for very long. It's nice that you love them and like to spend time with them :)
