What kind of sand is best? I've seen all propose sand but it's from construction sites... so it's not clean. Would it still be ok to put down in their pen? I don't think it is

I've got sand in my pen. On year #2, I love it. My sand is simply Fill Sand, as opposed to play sand, that is screened. I just bought what I could afford and it works well for me.

Sorry to hop on this post but having the same question! My lake has a natural sand beach, would the sand from there work okay?

Even if it's from a construction site un washed sand , not clean?

Sorry for not clarifying, my thinking is that one place's definition of construction or fill sand might be closer to a different place's screened or cleaned (?) sand. I think the point is that you need to inspect the actual product that you are buying and make sure that it doesn't have any sharp nasties or debris in it.

I looked at it and it doesn't have any sharps... It looks and feels just like sand. It's just not washed/ cleaned.
