Hi, I am Cassandra. I am looking for local farms or homes who have ducks for sell. My children and I would love to raise a few ducks and have been researching them. I am looking forward to learning more by reading the forums here.

Welcome to BYC!

We need to know about where you are for 'local'

Also don't forget to look up your laws about waterfowl, as an example in FL: All ducks except Pekin require a permit, Muscovy are under debate.

Ducks are awesome.

Are you going to hatch and imprint or get ducklings?

Yes I guess Location would be helpful! LOL
I'm in Palm Beach county, FL.
Yes, I have looked into FWC to see if I needed a permit. Getting one wouldn't be a problem but I would really like a Pekin duck as they say they are more a domestic animal. I have been feeding Muscovies near our canal. My children have named them Pepper and Cookie! They are juvenile ducklings but still can't fly... mommy duck (as we call her) has left them to go hang out with the two drakes. I am sure more ducklings are to come. :O)

I would like to get ducklings to start off with. Not sure I want to experiment with hatching them just yet. But would be a great lesson for the kids.

. Metzer can ship as few as 2 ducklings but it's pretty hot to be shipping right now

Yeah it's pretty expensive to have them shipped. I was really looking to get them from a local home. I know we have them here in PBC county, just have to find them. I've been to a feed store and they currently don't have any. I have to call every week to see if the hatchery has any coming in. Patience is a virtue.
