Hello this is my first post so I hope this doesn't sound dumb! I just got 6 chickens and 3 ducks! The chickens will go in the coop at night but the ducks won't! We have to catch them and put them to bed. We think it might be because of the ramp but we don't know. Should we keep doing what we are doing or should we build a smaller coop close to the ground? And just coral them? Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

A smaller coop closer to the ground would probably make it easier for them (and you won't have to worry about the ducks being pooped on by the chickens).
But you can also use peas to help you get them into their house.

Chickens like to be inside for the night, but ducks hate it. That might be why you have to chase them in – they simply don't want to go inside. But that's what's best for them, if you have predators. If they're hungry, you might be able to tempt them to come inside with food. My Muscovies have learned that food is just a trick to lock them up, so we have to herd them in – unless they're so hungry they don't care.

Ducks do have a harder time with ramps than chickens, so that could also be the problem. If you build a solid ramp with a gentle slope, it might be easier for them to get in. How high up is your coop?

Also, try not to chase them unless you have to. It can scare them.

Yes it is very stressful on everyone! We got a small coop close to the ground, we will try to lure them in! Thank You for your help!
