I have two buff ducklings, about six weeks old, and I've started leaving a tub of water in their run that's large enough for both of them to swim around in. Of course, they're ducks and the water turns brown the second they waddle into it. I'm considering throwing in some duckweed in an attempt to recycle all of that nitrogen and maybe provide them some additional protein. Their bellies will be green constantly, but as long as that's not detrimental to their health, I don't see a problem. Has anyone else done this before? Are there any health/sanitation issues I've overlooked?
