I know a few of you out here are running hydroponics or aquaponics and I was wondering if you have duck weed in there. I read that it's invasive as heck since it doubles every 24-30 hours. That wouldn't be a bad thing for us since we have a duck now that I'm sure would be happy to eat as much as she can get her bill into.

Pros and cons of duckweed?

I would keep it in an easily contained area. I've thought about raising some myself for chicken fodder. My thought would be to have a bin full of run off water from the rain barrel, Then, I could scoop it out onto a screen as needed to dry it in the sun for winter feed supplementation. Also planning to dry comfrey also. But, my plans are often more lofty than time allows. Both are high protein.

As long as you have some kind of critter that will eat it you will probably not ever have enough. My chickens, quail and tilapia all eat every bit I can produce. I have it in several ponds and containers. I only have a dozen large tilapia but they can eat many handfulls in short order. If you have ducks you will never have to worry about too much duckweed!
