The Christmas photoshoot:

I had Makita, my EE hen who was to be the star of the photoshoot, Red, my RIR hen who didn't do as good as she did in her last photoshoot, and lastly, Marcy, my other RIR. She wasn't planned at first, but because Red didn't do well, I figured I'd give her a chance. She did extremely well, almost as good as Makita.
This photoshoot is what I was using for my Christmas cards, so I was happy to get both Makita and Marcy on a card and shared.

Makita:

The bow didn't last long, but I did get a couple of her without the Christmas theme:

The first bow didn't stay on very well, so I switched between the two:

And lastly, a bonus picture. I took this picture in March when my hens were chicks and have been saving it for the Christmas season. (This picture also made it onto a card.)

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'd like to put that bow on my d'Anvers! It would look huge on the little ladies!

I have a smaller bow! I just don't have any bantams right now. I'm not sure if I've shared the Christmas photoshoot I did with Midnight awhile ago, but I used a bigger bow on her. I personally think the bigger bows look better on the roosters though, but she was a big hen.

Some things look a bit more interesting when a little light is added. I have a giant piece of ice thanks to a leaky faucet that needs to be fixed, so I decided to take out my lights that I use for my die-cast car photography to add some cool touches.

Beautiful!!!

Reflections photoshoot:

I had been thinking of doing this photoshoot for weeks now, though more of months ever since I got a couple of free mirrors. My idea was, take my EE hen, Winter, put her on one of the mirrors with a black backdrop, and get a picture of her pecking/looking down at the mirror. (I did have a few other thoughts to go along with it, but those were more of impossible ideas, or for at least this time.)
In the past, I have tried mirror photography with previous hens, but they always ended up as fails. Chickens often don't like mirrors, and they especially don't like standing on them. That in mind, I was worried this photoshoot was going to be a complete fail, but to my surprise, Winter was as calm as could be, and didn't seem bothered at all besides a few complaints of disturbing her bedtime. I'm really happy with this photoshoot, and am glad I decided to risk it, even if it meant failure.
