I don't know how much snow we have, but there's over 3" of sleet and counting.

Yuck, yuck, yuck. I'll take dry snow over sleet any day. I definitely don't envy your weather!

Week 5 of 2026 for me!

Sunset over the woods the other evening was actually painting the snow in pastels. It was so beautiful

The moon (and one star) through some tree branches a few evenings ago

I finally got my typodont stand this week, so... Here is Rocky, all set up and ready for his cleaning

This morning, our temp was recorded at about 6 degrees below what was predicted overnight, -7° F instead of the predicted -1° F. The trees had all accumulated frost on their branches, which I thought caught the morning sunlight rather spectacularly.

Week 6 has been very busy for me (and to top it off I'm coming down with some sort of respiratory thing ), so I don't have much to share this week.

The respiratory thing mentioned in my last post made this week pretty tough, but we survived week 7 to tell the tale. Not many pictures to speak of for it, though

Cross-posted from my flock thread, a somewhat promising young Cochin pullet from my breeding program... Wings are a little low (could be from her relaxing, though!) and that beak could be curved better, but she's shaping up okay

I suppose I could cross-post from Casper's thread as well since he's featured in one way or another every week so far... Here's him in a box that was not intended for him, but it's too late, it's his box now.

And some indirect vision dexterity practice for school. Very serious business, this is.

Goodness, I don't know, here's a picture of my supper tonight, I guess. Chicken, broccoli, and penne pasta in a lemon alfredo sauce. If you have never tried lemon alfredo, I highly recommend it as a favorite of mine. That punch of acid really takes alfredo to a whole new level

This morning, it was freezing cold again and snowing a little. I had gotten feed yesterday and forgotten to unload it from the car, so I had to stop what I was doing in the middle of topping off waterers and move the feed to the feed shed. When I returned to the spigot to keep hauling water around to pens, I noticed that the inside of the water bucket had frozen in a neat, lacy pattern in the cold:

I also tried to get a close-up picture of some snowflakes on a feed bag this morning, but it didn't turn out as close as I'd hoped.
