the pendesencas in the weekend hatch finished yesterday, only 1 made it, and it needed help. Its no bigger than the bantams, but at least its not lonely with all the little guys being the same size. The 10th ameraucana egg was a clear I somehow missed candling. One of the remaining pyncheons died in shell breached, the other couple quit earlier.
Everyone who hatched is doing well, only 1 pasty.
last leg of this stagger is tomorrow, all black javas and cochins in the suro for the hatching. The hatcher is getting a good cleaning and sterilizing, it was absolutely covered in chick fluff.
to those of you in favor of waiting. Good advice.
today a lovely lavender split ameraucana was waiting impatiently when I woke up. He or she is huge in comparison with the other chicks and already running the bator. it made my day. hoping that someone else will surprise me when I get home from work.
Sorry, I do not have any pics yet, my cameria has decided to take a vacation, I'll post some as soon as I get it working. But, I did have 9 chicks hatch. 2 B.B Red OEGB, 5 Junglefowl, and 2 Buff Silkies. I also just shoved 24 eggs under my 3 broodies
Fun!. I just looked at your link for the Delaware Blue Hens, they are so pretty. The description in there reminds me of my old Junglefowl flock, they lived in a community, so sweet.
