I had 10 hen's, a few months ago the neighbors dog came on our 5 acres and killed one during this time I also had a RR mix that went broody, after several different atemp's I couldn't break her away from the nest box so I got a rooster on the 18th of last month so after about a week I was putting a few of the other hen's egg's under her thinking if they hatch I will be replacing the one's I lost, everything was going good UNTIL the dog came back and killed him along with another hen, I was so upset that I called and reported to sheriff department, this happened on July 1st now here is where I'm lost, in the short period of time he did do what a rooster does because on the 14th of this month I went to check on my broody hen and she was now a momma of two beautiful babies, I was so excited!!! Now there are still six egg's left that she is sitting on, 4 day's later she started coming off the nest and not wanting to go back so I went and bought a incubator, followed all the direction's, I've been reading up on how to candle the egg's and so far I only had one bad and the other 5 have the air pocket, 4 are definitely moving around and the other I can't really tell, I'm lost on how many more day's before they start hatching, should I keep rotating the egg's, should I be raising the humidity level now? What to do, What to do.... I don't want the poor little thing's to die so any advice is so much appreciated.
