I only have a few eggs in the bator. There are going out to a broody to actually hatch.

There are bantam Sultan and Mille Fleur d'Uccles eggs that were shipped in and a few Dutch eggs from my own girls. Any chicks will be raised by Pigie a bantam white cochin. She is a proven momma * 3.

On the chance that too many hatch for Pigie, Friz may get a couple. Friz is a bantam frizzle cochin mix.

I have 12 other broodies on empty nests, but nothing for them.

Not one hatched. I used a different broody, but is also a proven momma. The eggs did not go out till day 19.

I dont' know what happened. When I opened the eggs the chicks were fully developed, but had not started to turn and had not started to absorb the yolk. That puts them dead on day 16-18.

Only 3 out of the 26 shipped eggs had even made it this far.

All I can guess is that the incubator spiked and killed them. "C Blue" just looked at me as I took her eggs away. She is still on the empty nest. I have started to save her some dutch eggs, but will be another 3 weeks of setting.

A very disheartened,
Matt
