I bought a little incubator that holds 2-3 eggs and put two in it.. that day a hen ent broody and is sitting on 11 eggs! I checked the two in my incubator.. they have veins & something really teeny moving around!!
so exciting! ny broody is wonderful too. she lets Mr help her get all her eggs under her when she re arranges her self after I've given hertreats or when I notice some aren't totally under her she just lifts her swing or side up tohelp me push them under her.

how do I take a good candling photo?

It is eggciting isn't it. Can't help with the pics I never took them. Good luck with them. Are you going to put the babies under the hen when they hatch?

thats definitely the plan!! shes reallly good with me.. so I might wait til one of hers hatches then put these under her..only because she was kicked off her nest twice.. so she might be two days behind these eggs

due 10/31. I have 7 of my bantam cross eggs in the bator right now. They are either cochin or serama crosses. I'm not sure which. I'll be busy that night, so I hope some wait until the next morning to hatch.

also have Coturnix and Button quail due 11/3. I can't wait!! This will be my first hatch of buttons.
