Duke's nasty ear infection

As the title says, Our dog duke has an ear infection

Compared to his "girlfriend" Zoey's ear

His is really red from scratching, a few scabs, and a lot of ear wax..bringing him to the vet today to get it checked out, I'm almost certain it's an infection.
Has anybody else dealt with this? Could it be something else besides an ear infection??

Could be ear mites. The black crusty stuff is typical of ear mites. If it is mites, you might want to treat the other dog too. Mites are very contagious.

I would schedule a vet visit so they can take a good look in that ear and give you ear cleaner and meds. Good luck.

Very watered down ACV works great as a "maintenance" type cleaner, once you get the ears clean and healthy. I use on all of my dogs, and it works great.
