can someone help me out with this i have a IB pied male and blackshoulder hen with him what would the offspring be would it be BS split of IB split?
and if this is to much or to complicated but ive always thought opal silver pied is one of the best looking peafowl. so if i had a opal peafowl what would i need to breed it to get opal silver pied, thanks for dealing with my stupidity in the genetic field

The best way to get an opal silver pied is to buy one, lol. It would take a couple generations to get from solid opal to OSP.
I have a couple of OSP yearling cocks if you need one, here is daddy.

man that is a great looking peacock its making me want some opal silver pieds even more, two Qs
if i got a pair OSP would the chicks be %25white 25%opal WE 50%opal silver pied?
and how much would you charge for a yearling OSP cock ??? i guess i could breed him to a white hen

I have the OSP cocks listed at $225 on our page. https://www.facebook.com/Bill.Candy.Vinduska/

As with breeding any pied pattern of peafowl the ratio is 1-2-1. When breeding Silver Pied to Silver Pied you get an average of 25% white, 50 % Silver Pied, 25% Dark Pied “White-Eyed”.

If you bred him to an IBSP it would be very difficult to know which were Opal and which were IB in some of the offspring. In any case, there would be no Opal males and half of the females would be Opal. Those Opal females then could be bred back to the father to make Opal cocks.
