DUMB health ?

this is what I AM/WAS thinking but wanted to now if it was useless. So far I just have a tinge of a headache. Full blown sinus infection tylenol/advil NOTHING but script meds will help with the pain.

I was wondereing if people HAD ridden it out. It had occured that people did not go all the time in the past.

ALSO been a really long time since I have been sick. I started working out about 5 years ago and since I did, very rare to get sick. They say it turns of your cells faster when you workout. It has helped me a lot.

I would eat a nice salad with raw garlic, lots of it... And some supper spicy chicken wings.. This is my cure all, they say garlic will kill anything.. Not too sure what my friends think of my over use of garlic

I was always told once it got all green and stuff there was an infection! We all were sick around here a lot last year, everyone seemed to get over it but me. After 3 weeks I finally went to the doctor (I went to urgent care, it was $80 walk-in and they gave me free 'sample' size antibotics, they were super nice since I don't have insurance and we have been unemployed).

It sounds like your 'cold' is now a sinus infection... and as I have a compromised immune system, I get LOTS of colds. I have become very aware of what requires a doctor these days.

P.s.- Some doctors on your 'first' visit will tell you to ride out its probably just a virus. This is now the NORM as they try to NOT promote antibiotics as the cure all. However, the doctors that are doing this KNOW its not right, and give this as your only choice because they tell you if you're not feeling better come back in 3 days and they'll prescribe you something then. Hello, they just got paid for 2 office visits! Its a scam... tell them how long you've been sick, and that if they do not prescribe you the anti-biotics you aren't paying for the visit and you will find another doctor who listens to your needs and shows concern.

I've done it both ways. If it's tolerable (and I freely admit I have a very high pain tolerance level) I usually ride it out. Decongestants enough so I can breathe, tylenol or aspirin for headache, and flush nasal passages with saline rinse daily. A nice steam treatment with eucalyptus helps a lot, too. If you have natural foods store you can probably get eucalyptus leaves. Boil some water, put it in a bowl with a small bunch of the leaves, cover your head and bowl with a towel and breathe.

If it gets to the point I can't pick my head up off the pillow without the pain making me dizzy and nauseuos, I go to doctor. Or if the thing lingered for weeks.

Maybe not the best way to handle it, but I just am leery of antibiotics. They are good, don't get me wrong, but they have been so overused for so long, I figure if I can get rid of it without, I'm good.
