Dumb quesion

Its raining now and I was wondering if my young chickens will go in the coop if they want or do I need to go local them back in? They go in any night on their own

I had to show mine the first time. They were running laps in the run and peeping loudly. Once herded inside, they calmed down and now they know what to do.
