This is a dumb question, but I gave a VERY energetic speckled Sussex and she has recently gotten bored of our yard, and is constantly wander into our neighbor’s yard. This is concerning because we can’t put up a fence and the neighbors have big dogs that have tried to attack the chickens before. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has ever taken their bird to a park or elsewhere. We have a chicken harness and leash also.

Some people 'walk' their chickens/ducks, but this will not stop her from leaving your yard. Only a pen will cure that behavior and assure her safety.

We don’t really want to use a pen, because they only get to free range an hour a day and then they are put back inside the coop

What's stopping your neighbor's dog from eating your chickens right now? If the chicken can get to the dog, the dog can get the chicken. Have you looked into electric fences, even portable ones? Easy to put up and it should fix most of your problems.

Okay I get it now for whatever reason they only get one hour out a day. I don’t know how you could herd them or protect them from a dog. You said my chicken do you only have one?? Then by all means walk her in the park on a leash at the park! A dog FREE park. I don’t know your setup or why you have this chicken (they are flock animals) but if this is your first chicken and the only one you have....She’d Love a walk in the park!! We’d love to see pictures. :love

My brother sent my niece and nephew to the store to buy new bathing suits. They came home with two chickens. My brother is a very kind man he did the best he could given the situation. To this day we still talk about it.

Wow 7 okay. It would be HARD to walk seven. Maybe animal control (where I live that’s what they’re called) could answer that question for you. Sure wish there was a solid answer for you. Sorry

I wouldn't take a chicken to a park mostly for safety reasons. Even if everyone there has their dog leashed, it wouldn't surprise me if someone lost control of their dog as it got too excited seeing the chicken.

You really need to pen her in if she's wandering off. Maybe I'm misunderstanding but are you saying you don't have a run and the chickens are cooped all day? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as the neighbors the other issue is they might not be too happy to find a chicken pooping and digging up their yard, and they have every right to let their dogs use their yard, so this is really on you as the owner to keep the chickens from going over there.
