I don’t even understand what this post is about…. Perhaps reword and add punctuation so those who speak your language may respond appropriately.
Ah yes, this makes more sense. Here anyone else have one intelligent turkey and stupid one
I didn't think about the fact them being youngAh yes, this makes more sense.
In a word, no.
I have 20 turkeys currently…10 young adults and 10 juveniles. The younger birds sometimes are more easily confused by fences, corners of cages, etc… in time they learn a bit more. I will occasionally still find a mature bird trapped in the run even though the door is standing open. Not sure if it’s an intelligence thing or a visual perception issue.
Is your “stupid” turkey exhibiting specific behavior that you can elaborate on?
I noticed that as soon as the poults were out of the brooder phase and could observe chickens and older turkeys doing what they do, they didn’t seem so “stupid”.I didn't think about the fact them being young
Thanks this only our second batch and first time with standerd bronze turkeysOk think we're new to turkey and I kown there not that stupid because we raised a batch. this is our second batch
Also they been out here for 3 week nowI noticed that as soon as the poults were out of the brooder phase and could observe chickens and older turkeys doing what they do, they didn’t seem so “stupid”.
I think turkey hens impart a lot of know how on the poults and if they don’t get the chance to be raised from hatch by a mother, they need things like marbles in the water or to be shown how to peck for food. I bet in a few weeks they’ll be up to speed
