Dumbest question I've ever heard

Pretty uninformed. What part of mammals vs birds did she miss in second grade science?

Best one:

"Why do you have chickens?"

"As pets and for eggs"

"You eat your chickens' eggs?"

"Yes, why?"

"But the store chicken eggs aren't taking form an animal!"

"Well...

They ran out of egg tree's this year so I have chickens instead."

"Really? do you need a permit to keep egg trees? How are they planted?"

((I gave a quick discription of how to hatch eggs and warned her it would have to "be fertile eggs, you know pollinated..."))

"Where can I get seeds?"

"I'm selling them for $5 a dozen, but you need to get a seed warmer first, they're called incubators at feed stores ((gave local feedstore info))."

"Can I get the seeds now?"

"Only if you will take them in an egg carton, they are big."

......

I hope the dummy never breeds humans...

That's a good one, OP.

I work at a science center and we hear some really funny things from people who aren't "animal people". For example, one time a guy asked me if our Brahman steer was an emu.

I think many of those "dumb" questions are just ignorant ones where the asker just doesn't know better.

However.. here's one for dumb.

Me: Next week's quiz will be on Chapters 1-3.
Student: Do we need to know the terms in Chapter one?

Hint: The class is called Medical Terminology... the entire BOOK is TERMS and their DEFINITIONS!!!

One time at a little truck stop, I ordered chicken breasts with extra nipples. The waitress didn't flinch when she said "it will cost extra". I am not sure who was messing with who. Needless to say, I didn't get the extra nipples and didn't have to pay extra.
