Well this just went all political. I'm knew here so maybe this is a political sight I'm not sure. I would hope not but should it be let me know so I can leave. I want to talk aboit birds and farming not the polotics of birds and farming. I am in no way trying to call anyone out and I also do not care who started it.
This IS a chicken site, however, political arguments/discussions do come up sometimes. Political/religious topics are against the rules, and people involved are usually given infractions if the debate becomes too heated. It is usually best to just ignore anything political/religious.

c'mon... we can't let this thread die... there have to be more amusing anecdotes out there! my girls are still under a year, so they are still laying, I have enough to share with family and some to sell here and there... I haven't heard anything wacky for a while myself... but I did do something a bit nutty myself the other day... I ordered 15 chicks to be delivered on 12/4...

I was going for a walk down our rural road the other day, and I took my Porcelain d'Uccle hen. Some hippie in an old station wagon stopped and asked me where I got a dove like that. I told him the dove store

My prissy, citiot/floridiot friend is coming for TG. It'll be the first time she's seen my chickens. I asked that she get me some Publix breakfast bread (no Publix up here) which she picked up last night. Since there was a change in plans and she can't come up until today, she asked if she should put the bread in the freezer. I had to convince her that it would be ok to leave it out overnight. Once, she helped me make pasta. I had her chop the fresh parsley. Using a knife and fork, it took her a half hour. I just watched, mouth agape.

I should have some good chicken stories after she leaves. Stay tuned ....

Does your friend not have a televison to watch PBS or daytime talk shows like Martha and Rachel and the chew to learn how to cook???? I mean as a little kid not allowed to use a knife to help chop watching and learning on tv....

She doesn't watch TV, so had the cable turned off. All she watches now is movies from NetFlix, and little of that. She's always been more of a reader, which is fine, but hates to cook even though she's raising two boys. She was very proud of herself yesterday when she told me she made the BEST dinner: Pasta with jarred alfredo sauce <blech> to which she'd added crab meat. That's about as sophisticated as she gets when it comes to cooking. Actually, I call what she does in the kitchen "heating". The only kind of steak she or her boys will eat is filet ............. which she cooks in a toaster oven. <shudder>
