let's see... only last week someone told me that roosters fertilize the eggs after they are laid. I gently corrected her and told her that no, that was some species of FISH.

I have several people in my own family who are CONVINCED that there is something in the layer mash, some hormone, that causes pullets to start laying when you use it. I try to tell them that no, you switch to layer mash once they have started laying, but no, it's the laying mash that starts them.

then after our rooster vs. rooster dust-up yesterday, someone told me to just cut off all their combs and they'd stop fighting... they go for the red and if the red isn't there, they won't fight each other.

you can buy dog food with assistance money you get money in cash and on a card. the card money you cant buy dog food with the cash money you can buy anything with including dog food, cat food, bird food, chicken feed, etc.

Ive been on food stamps and NO you CAN NOT buy anything non human food wise (and you can't buy prepared hot prepared foods <like from the deli> You can't get cash off the cards, so yes feeding chicken to the dog is cheaper and I can be darned sure if anyone told me I'd have to get rid of my dog because I was on assistance I've have probably beaten the crap out of them... to put it nicely. Of course if they are feeding raw buying whole chickens or whatever is on sale with bones, heck even if you're cooking it just take out the bones before giving.

I think the cash she is talking about is AFDC. The government does put that cash on the same cards as foodstamps but not everyone gets it only families under certain circumstances.

Send her pictures of where her eggs come from.  I won't eat a store bought egg anymore not after seeing how they are abused and I believe with all my heart that most people would stop buying them if they really knew.

I have tried to explain to her about not just the eggs that she buys but the meat that she eats. I have shown her images and footage of how these animals are kept. Her attitude, well its done for our benefit, so that we know what they are being fed. Some people just dont give a ****. Her husband is refusing to eat the store bought eggs in protest though lol.

She's almost 9 and her food is gluten free, no corn or bi products. She does have a sensitive tummy ( hence the special food) n shes not on any meds unless she got into the trash or something. But gee whiz, this is like chemical warfare! Lol

they are allowed to use a different product up to 6 months before they have to change the label. So they can switch out ingredients and you not evenn know it. My mom is an RVT at an animal hosp and Ive gone to a few nutrition classes with her (she has to do so many hours of different classes to keep her licensce). Only company that doesnt switch out ingredient is Hill's(science and prescirption diet), they guarentee whats on thier label is in thier bag, and you can return your food for a refund if you/your dog doesnt like it for some reason.

Yes please do, if anyone will know she will. I'd love to give mine a lil citrus in the summer just for enjoyment n the vitamins. A friend of mine who has had chickens for yrs told me no citrus or onions. Onions will slightly change egg flavor but the citrus is supposedly bad?? I dunno, I'm confused. Lol. I'll be awaiting her professional opinion for sure n Ty so much for addressing this question. ;-)

I haven't read all the way through this yet, but from what I've been told the citrus causes thin,weak shells (i thin the y said it interferes with the calcium or something but don't quote me on that.)
