Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

That has to be absolutely the most absurd posting on this thread.  It's beyond even being laughable.  I don't have a clue how I would respond to that one if I heard it, but I'm sure it wouldn't be pretty!

Yep. :/ The glass edges would get smoothed down too quickly by the pebbles in the chicken's crop and it certainly wouldn't be effective for long. Calcium grit or those found by the chickens themselves would be much better.

I was dumbfounded that's for sure. It was years ago but I also remember coming home with lice crawling all in my hair. And now that I remember, they did pull out a few dead chickens every few cages. If I knew then what I know now...

Even more dumbfounded!!!!!!

My younger city bound sister ( in her 30's) came to visit with her hubby and two boys, The next day I got up to make breakfast and since our hens were laying really good decided to scramble up a dozen or so eggs, she sat there looking at it but wouldn't serve herself any...I asked her why she wasn't eating the eggs, she said...You know...there fresh...I'm like...yeah, that they are....she said she just couldn't because those eggs were brown and she only ate white eggs...I'm dumbfounded and asked her what the difference was and she said matter of factly, she would never eat a brown egg because those eggs had been pooped out...

We had a good laugh and reminded her that all chickens lay eggs in the exact same way out the same orifice but to this day she will not eat any color egg but white

...well to be honest, my chickens when they are let out of the coop - on rare occasion, mind you - they slip into the outside work area and chow down on shards of pvc.

wow here in Indiana those "pooped on" eggs are charged at a higher price than white ones, so I guess in your sister's way of thinking some people like eating you know what with their eggs so much they will pay more for it!!!!!!!

Brown eggs are preferred in New England too. Theory goes that white eggs come from Leghorns with their big combs which are not as winter hardy, thus have to be shipped up from the south, thus are not as fresh as brown eggs which come from more cold tolerant chickens, thus are local eggs and are fresher.

This one actually has some basis in logic. Whether or not it's true is another matter. 7
