Basically it's feed for 12hours,no feed for 12 hours. They will make little piggies of themselves, and gain too much weight for their legs to support. I've not had that problem, as mine get fed once a day. When it's gone, it's gone. Also be sure and give lots of clean water, free choice.

yeah 12 hours with 12 hours without food. And make sure they forage as much as humanly possible. How old are they?

OK, that's not too bad, they are 6 weeks old right now and I free range them til dark. How do I keep them out of everyone else's food tho, currently they share space w/ my RIRs...? They are Lil piggies tho, I call one butterball but they still have good mobility.

well i me nor my grams put them in with the layers that way we could tell them apart. 6 weeks is a good time if they haven't starting having mobility issues they most likely aren't going to start but you have to pay attention to the feeding schedule or Else it may surprise you how fast they go down hill. you could put all your birds on a feeding schedule but i don't know how it would affect the layers production.
