Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Well that's gonna be interesting.

I gave a dozen eggs to a man helping me build onto my chicken coop. The next day, he told me his wife wanted to know it the eggs would hatch in their refrigerator??? HE KNOWS WE ONLY HAVE HENS, NO ROOSTER!

A man who told me he has raised chickens for 20 + years, was at my house before my 6 pullets were old enough to lay. He told me I WOULD NEVER GET ANY EGGS FROM MY CHICKENS WITHOUT A ROOSTER. He insisted that without the rooster no hen would have eggs!

Really, he was quite serious, and told me I did not know what I was talking about when I told him they would lay unfertilized eggs. He really made me mad with his arrogance.

After reading some of these comments I thought I would share a story about my kid's 8Th grade English teacher.

In addition to teaching English, he has taken it on himself to do a few extracurricular activities.

He has a school garden.

He has building projects where the kids build Dog houses, chicken coops and other things they sell and the profits are split among the students.

He also raises chickens, tight there on the school yard. The chicks are hatched in the classroom incubator, then transferred to the brooder and then out into the chicken run.

The kids are responsible for cleaning the coop and run, and even learn how to process the birds, and take them home to mom in a plastic bag.

These kids will not be asking the dumb questions when they grow up.

Unfortunately we aren't allowed to do things like that in the UK anymore.
We could in the 80's when I grew up but everything is health and safety now. The kids cant even have frog spawn to look at!
Such a shame.

It's scary the number of people that don't understand female plumbing.
