When I sell my eggs people people will request the blue ones because they are "low cholesterol".

really didn't know that.
it's not the blue eggs specifically, it's birds that are ranged on pasture have lower cholesterol eggs. Thank you to Martha Stewart for telling the whole world blue eggs are different than other eggs...so much for her being the "best" homemaker.

I'd hate to trip and fall in a pen of Broilers at the end of their 12 hours off of food.

there'd be nothing left except a skull.....

Martha Stewart didn't make that up out of thin air. She quoted a source she had reason to believe was reliable.

I don't want to fuel an argument here, but just to clarify something here: GMOs are not creating new DNA and never did. It adds specifically chosen DNA from one organisms to another without cross-breeding. It also allows two organisms which are closely related, but not enough to breed, to swap DNA. It does not happen in nature but it's no more man-made then a breed created by selective breeding. Opinions will vary on if it should be eaten or not, however it was never proven to be harmful (unless that is, you crossed bred a deadly plant with an edible plant and ate it).

Back to the topic:

Someone told me that if a fertilized egg sits on the counter it will hatch.

I agree with the first paragraph

OMG, I was telling a lady at work the other day that I'll be getting chickens this summer and plan to have lots and lots of eggs.  I told her I'd bring some in for her so that she can taste how much better they are.

Know what she said?

Her: "Oh my GAWD, eeeeeewwwwww, I could never eat those eggs!"

Me: "Ummmm, why not?

Her: "Well, BECAUSE, they came out of a chicken's butt!"

Me: "Ummmmm.  Huh?  You eat eggs from the store, right?"

Her: "Well, yeah, of COURSE, but that's different!"

Me: "How is that different?  Those eggs also came out of a chicken."

Her: "But those are all sanitary and come in a box."

Me: "I'll wash my eggs and box them for you too."

Her: "Blech, no way.  I could never eat eggs from your chickens.  That's just gross."

Me: "***?"
