Your comment reminds me of the red wine study being good for the heart, well it was backed by the wine industry, the grape juice industry did a study same holds true for red grape juice, later I heard it was repeated again, and was almost identical for white wine and juice (not quite as good, but not enough to fuss over). so ti depends on who is paying for the study....

Thanks for asking! I feel the same way... what kind of a heartless person can say such a horrible thing? The chick got through the hatch very well. It's day 2 for it, and it is eating and drinking. One sad thing is that it has a deformity on the left side of the head, which I believe left it blind on that side. So, it is a little uncoordinated and I'm afraid to place it with its momma and the other chicks. I am hoping to find a day-old-chick somewhere to be its buddy. The chick is feeling very lonely..

I actually had a very good friend tell me Saturday night that she would NEVER buy eggs from me. Too gross. Can only buy them from the store. I really thought all my friends were normal.

My mom recently told someone that I had bought 2-week old chicks and the person asked if they were old enough to be away from their mother. My mom assured her they would be just fine in the brooder but then the woman said, "Aren't they still nursing at that age?" Too funny. I guess she thought that's what chicken breasts are for.
