Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Where I live farm fair is coming up, and I will be in the chicken tent showing off my birds so I am sure to get a ton of dumb things said to me. Wish me luck guys.

I have to try my best to be polite.... And not laugh about it with my friends until they've walked away.

I've mentioned this before but it bears repeating. I used to show dairy goats. I was at one big fair and one day I had had it to HERE with all the idiotic questions. I took a break and went to the horicultural building to see the flowers. I was admiring some gorgeous blooms and I said to the person with me, "My, what beautiful mums!!". Then I heard an icy voice behind me say, "THOSE are dahlias" That encounter taught me something. Nobody, not even me, knows everything. Ever since then I have been more patient with people and their questions and comments. But that doesn't mean I can't laugh later and wonder how on earth they came up with that.

Being old and cranky, I would just stay home. But then baby showers have never been very high on my list of things I like to do. One thing you might consider. Even if you sanitize yourself from head to toe, shower, disinfectant soap, shampoo, new clothes and all, if you go and later somebody gets sick from anything you are going to be blamed. Also, any gift you present may well end up in the trash because it's "contaminated".

Yeah, I'm just going to stay home. She gave me the perfect excuse! I don't enjoy all of the games and stuff that goes on at those things either. I'll just send a gift card submerged in a jar of Lysol or something. Lol!

If you shop online using one of her registries, they'll ship straight from there to her house, gift wrapped if you want. Then you know any money you spend won't be wasted
I agree, though, jumping through all those hoops only to have everyone be suspicious and paranoid anyhow would be no fun. Sorry you have to deal with that.

I'm used to the drama, it never ends around there. That's one of the reasons I live waaaayyyyyy out in the boonies, I never have to worry about being asked to host those things. ;-)

I kinda like the idea of sending a gift card and having a paper band around it saying "Sanitized for your protection."
