7 biddies- you're probably near my family near Asheville.

I was raised in Alaska tho, and have grown up children... so maybe this is me over compensating for being an empty nester by having so many chickens. I just fully embrace my crazy chicken lady status.

Now my bf & I start doing chicken references when joking around, like giving each other the stinkeye when something suspect is said or done, well at least we laugh a lot!

Kentucky.

"About the Show

Follow the Sheriff Deputies of Sullivan County, TN and Ashe County, NC as they work to keep the peace in the Blue Grass Mountains. Get an unprecedented look into crime in Appalachia, where guns, drugs and alcohol challenge lawmen 24/7."

No mention of Kentucky, just Tennessee and North Carolina; Blue Ridge Mountains in NC and Smokies in TN., and Kentucky Appalachians. http://www.kentuckytourism.com/explore/regions/kentuckys_appalachians.aspx Kentucky is also known as the Blue Grass state, which has to do with the rolling grass hills of horse country, not mountains. But, ain't no such thing as Blue Grass Mountains. I don't care if it *IS* just a reality show, NatGeo should know better!! Doesn't anybody double check or edit anything anymore? Doesn't anyone feel they have a reputation to uphold anymore? Doesn't anyone CARE that their name is on it???? Whatever happened to standards? Someone abolished them when I wasn't looking!!!!

Seems any slop can be printed these days. My professors would have failed and then skinned me if I tried to pull this c... um, stuff. My work requires me to write reports for every child I evaluate. If my reports looked like most of what's printed today, no one would respect what I had to say. So much for professionalism.

Seems all anyone really needs to know anymore is, "Want fries with that?"

that's the same reason we started too. We wanted organic and free range eggs. We don't sell them though. We gladly share with whoever wants some. There's always going to be more tomorrow

I never intended to sell them and just gave my overflow to friends who appreciated their quality. But, one lady, knowing what feed costs, refused to take them unless she could pay, so I've been selling them to her and a few others ever since. It offsets the cost a little (what I make in a month doesn't even cover a single bag of organic feed <sigh>), which I'm sure I'll appreciate more after I retire. I still give some to friends when I have too many, though, but not if I don't have enough for my own purposes.

Shows how good our education system works.

Any one ever read the story of the women who took home a hen and her chicks and when the chicks started to die she called the people she got the hen from and said " this chicken is a terrible mother! She's not making any milk for her babies!"
Omg can't believe it, but I do (just to contradict my self.)

I believe "Granny" was the actress Irene Ryan. For some reason, that sticks in my head. I guess I'm dating my self, too. --BB

Irene Ryan was Granny aka Daisy Moses, Max Baer was Jethro Bodine, Donna Douglas was Ellie Mae Clampett, and Buddy Ebsen was her father Jedidiah Clampett, Jed for short. How's that for anal retentive?
