Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

My wife is the same way. My girls do seem to hold it until they get on the patio, and it is annoying, but she's over the top about it. I'm looking at ways to fence them in, but it isn't going to be easy...or cheap. Before it was freezing, I just hosed the patio off every afternoon, but that would make a skating rink now.
I just deal with the poop. It's a farm right? But my significant other also hates it on the step. I tell her to deal with it :p I can't pass up looking out the window to see my birds staring back at me through the sun room.

Come out to play :)

Yes Dumbest. such as you are a dummy for saying or doing something so stupid. Not being stupid in an evil way.
You know people say these dumb things because they are ignorant. I'm not going to be ignorant to the ways these hatcheries handle things. I don't think anyone else should be either, and I don't think what they are doing is 'evil' but very unnecessary.

I have a stupid thing...well more of a gripe. My husband gets upset because the chickens sometime poop on the front step. While it is gross;he finds it acceptable to walk on the step with cow poo all over his boots. The barn swallows poop all over the step also. We live in the country there will be poo!! My motto: it all washes!
I'm a lucky guy. My wife's folks raised chickens when she was growing up and my grandparents had chickens, so both of us knew to expext chicken poop. What she doesn't like is that a lot of sparrows hang out next to our boat because we put some leftovers for our chickens there. That she doesn't mind, but they leave a lot of bird poop on the boat trailer. I'm going to have some cleanup to do before we take the boat out.

We had to put up a FAQ on the farm website, and we had to address the green eggs. Specifically, that we don't feed the EEs any feed additives to get the blue and green eggs, and that we don't artificially color the eggs after they're laid, either!

I assume this is a turkey, but I'm not very knowledgeable about them. However, I know what I like and the feathers on this bird are absolutely GORGEOUS! It looks like the bird is wearing some sort of delicate chiffon outfit!

Is that a Royal Palm?

That reminds me, I went to a show Sat to sell/buy (I havnt got into showing yet) and there was a lady next to me with a Midget White turkey, people where coming up to her asking if it was a turken(meaning chicken/turkey cross). He was the size of a chicken, but lokked like a regular turkey, I guess people thought he was half chicken because of his size. :D

Yes Royal Palm :)

I get the same questions about my Naked Neck Turkens. Turkens are not a cross between a turkey and a chicken.

Exactly. I don't know of any backyard chicken keepers that debeak. It's done when they're "cage free" but crammed together at high density in a barn. It looks like this:

Disgusting, yes, but perhaps better than this:

here in england we have made having things like that illegal to a point, they still do battery farming but its 4 hens to a cage and the cages have to be big enough for them to flap their wings, and have different areas to perch, drink and eat, so at the moment i want it to stop but not in england just yet because if we stop, we will just import eggs from farms that have much worse conditions but im still against it thats why 5 of my 8 chickens are EX-Bats
