Heehee My grandma once told me a recipie in which she used "somewhere between a teaspoon and a cup of sugar"

my mom has recipes that include some ingredients "when she remembers". not when she has them, when she remembers to use them.

My bread is never measured. I have tons of family asking for my recipes and i try to give them but unless you are standing there with me you don't understand it. So many variables in making bread that a set recipe didn't always yield the same results.

Humidity, the way you store your floor, what you mix it in and with, chicken eggs aren't exactly the same size, sometimes you don't want a bread with the heaviness of eggs. Sometimes you want a sweeter bread, a salty bread, a very light bread, a dense bread. Then there are different shapes for different uses. Some shapes work the dough more so change the consistency. Sometimes you can wait for the bread, other times you need it asap. I've passed on what i can to my nieces and nephews but some have the knack for knowing what is needed and others are best to make a nice yeast flavored flat bread.

eta, my mother taught me how to make breads. i use the same methods and most of the ingredients

Oh, yes. Bread if fun to make. It's so variable. No recipe needed. I was taught to take just add flour until it is the correct consistincy. Can vary from day to day from humidity.

Only thing I was taught growing up that you follow exact is candy instructions and don't double.

I hated eating out with my grandmothers sister. She ALWAYS complained and sent food back. Was always rude to the server from the get go and never ever left a tip. I'm surprised we weren't poisoned going out to eat with that woman.

If some one acts like that when I am out with them I apologize loudly to the wait staff in front of them. Usually something along the lines of, "Sorry they are being so rude, we did not realize they had not been given their medication before we picked them up from the facility." Then I leave a big tip.

I week send things back if they aren't made how i ordered it. I am paying for the food. It should be made right

Now i am never rude about it. i try to be as polite as i can. i tip very well for good service but for bad service, i won't leave a tip at all, if it is an all around bad experience, then i will be talking to managers. they need to know there is a problem to fix it.

there is a scene in the move "Waiting" that the rude customers should see. you know "first we add more gravy, then some garlic salt". or maybe the movie "Road Trip" with the French toast scene. because of that movie I will no longer eat French toast that I haven't seen cooked.
