I believe it's what they call "gallows humor". (Definition: "Any humor that treats serious matters, such as death, war, disease, crime, etc., in a light, silly or satirical fashion.") The signs mentioned earlier would be considered examples of satire. (Definition: "the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.") No one was being serious or seriously suggesting anyone be shot, killed, maimed, or harmed in any way. It's a way of venting. (Definition: "A means of exit or escape; an outlet".)

Some like it, some don't. But, since this IS a humor thread, let's try not to not take things so seriously. OK everyone?  :idunno

Now. Back to our regularly scheduled programming. (I hope.)
amen!

My daughters friends will not eat the eggs I give her. We have a rooster so the eggs do have a spot on the yolk. They said it would make you sick if you ate fertilized eggs.
City folk .. go figure

don't feel bad i have been raising chicken for 15+ years and i just found out not 4 months ago that chickens don't just eat scratch with oyster shells, eggs can be hatched without broodys and a productive flock doesn't have to be 25 or more strong. Learning isn't always fun but it keep us all going(and some what sane).
I only recently heard from a friend that I should be drying and crushing my egg shells to give the chooks back as grit and calcium. I had never thought of that. Doing it now though!

I would ask them three things. One, why do they think eating fertilized eggs make you sick? Two, if eating fertilized eggs make you sick, why do some grocery and health food stores sell them? And three, since you and your family eat fertilized eggs, why aren't you all sick or dead? Their answers might be interesting.

yeah my grams would take about 2 dozen or so egg's boil them, throw them in the blender and give them to the birds once a month and that huge pile was gone in a matter of minutes

Why exactly did you move to Australia?
My husband was Australian and I was American. The economy in Australia was better, the healthcare system was better, jobs paid more, I could go to University and get a really fantastic education without going into debt because of the HECS program Australia has. Basically Australia just had a significantly higher number of "Pros".

I got the impression that it was more a "sick in the head" sort of sick. As in, "You're eating chicken embryos, you monster."

But... but... I like the American health care system....

Well, before the "Affordable Care Act".
