Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Hm. I'm trying to find people to GIVE eggs to.

Lots of people, including family members, think fresh eggs are unsanitary or just plain gross. I end up scrambling eggs for my flock (which I have no problem doing, they deserve it) because we are getting about a dozen a day.

Maybe I'm not spending enough time trying to educate people, they just don't seem to want to be educated. We have a cockerel and most people are put off by the idea of fertilized eggs, even though I gather eggs several times a day, no chance of growing chicks. Whatever.

I give first dozen for free to co workers to get them hooked on real eggs.Problem now is I have only four layers till Aug. then we should have 30 but 6 are banty. Family n friends usually only pay half the time since I don't like to charge them but they seal money in my truck or purse. Grr

we've had coworkers selling them in the past and when they stopped everyone was so disappointed! I would only charge because I work with so many people and don't want to cause problems for myself later. I'm also feeding non-gmo feed so I know what these eggs would cost elsewhere. Won't hurt a bit to make a little feed money back

I live in a rural area so I don't have this problem at all. Farm fresh eggs are coveted here. Most people don't ask about whether they're fertilized but those who know ask, wisely so, how often they're collected. I'll be collecting twice a day, as I've encountered a half developed chick in some given to me by my MILs neighbor years ago. Last time she tried to give me some I told her to keep em!

chick surreal if they think the eggs are unsanitary they don't deserve them. I have farm raised in laws who grew up with eggs of every color and fowl yet will only eat white chicken eggs. WHAT???? Egg racists!!!I hope I won't have too many fertilized ones once Fester starts his business but I collect three times now with only four layers. The rest of my flock will start laying in Aug. My guys Fester and Lurch are so outnumbered,2 cockerels,4 hens and 21 pullets.(may change cuz a few I not sure of yet)

Yea, i have that same problem. I've learned to watch for when their eyes start to glaze over.

My mom grew up on a ranch, and still says yuck to my fertilized eggs. I tried to show her a picture of the difference between an egg that was fertilized and one that wasn't. She didn't care, she says it's the "idea" of it, whatever that means. Lol!

I know, I have stopped even offering them to family members, I have a sneaking suspicion that they throw them away if they do take them.

I don't understand why people care what the color of the egg is when they are going to eat it. I love all the different colors of eggs out there!

Ugh That's not good! Yes, we'll eventually have plenty. First gotta see how many supposed pullets turn into boys :-/
My coworkers do prefer brown eggs. Looks like the EE eggs will be for us later
