Also, I once convinced my sister that chickens give milk:

Me "You do know that chickens give milk right?"
Her "No way"
Me "Than what do you think chicks eat?"
Her "Ok, than why isn't it sold in supermarkets?"
Me "Because the milk has certain protiens that humans cannot digest, making in unplatable and possably deadly"
Her "OMG, THAT'S SO COOL, I NEVER KNEW THAT!!!"

I'm guessing she's the little sister and that you've been pulling her leg since day one. Poor kid.

I am the youngest of 3. When I was little, my sisters convinced me I was adopted :) we laugh about it today though.

Oh, I did that to my sister.... I told her she was adopted, that the papers were upstairs and I had seen and read them. (She hadn't started school yet and so couldn't read)

Every once in a while I'll find a birthday card alluding to not being in the family tree. We laugh, but it was really traumatic for her at the time. (And, no, she's not adopted)

I was SO mean. Why she even speaks to me today is..... Well. Hmmm. I haven't heard from her in a bit.

I wonder why you haven't heard from her in a while

Most of my ignorant comments mostly revolve around how I must be a cold-hearted psychopath for butchering for meat, but I had one person actually just last week accuse me of "stealing the babies" (eggs) from chickens. She tried to guilt me in how I'd feel if someone stole my children from me.

I messed with her after that telling her that my chickens are happy little cannibals that go BONKERS for the cooked chicken meat and scrambled eggs I give them, just to make her apoplectic. XD

It never ceases to boggle me how so many people who profess to claim to love and care for animals take NO time to learn anything about them. They really just care about some fantasy they made up about them, not about them personally. Which is sad, as I think it's really a further detriment and setback to making changes in providing better conditions for our commercial livestock.

Oh well, at least my chickens wholeheartedly agree with me that they are indeed finger lickin' good, and I know that they are happy and healthy.

Ok, I HAVE to share this one that I just got just now on another forum I frequent discussing how I raise chickens for meat and eggs:

"whats wrong with you why can't you just buy them fresh or frozen you sound like a heartless killer beatiful chicks u want eggs from and at some pt kill em to eat..go to kentucky popeyes mary browns swiss chalet..I think your a sicko."
