I know, I know. <Scuffing foot in sand> I'm heading back to the safety and neutrality of the Porch right now.

And what else could they think it tastes like? Fuzzy tuna? Why some folks think that what the meat is wrapped in affects the flavor is beyond me! Like the old brown egg/white egg argument! Throw in a blue or green egg and they act like Spellchecker trying to handle a 5 year old's text message!

Don't green eggs taste like lime?

And blue ones like blue berries?

That's why I picked brown eggers..you, know they have to taste like chocolate.

I remember an episode of "Chopped" where one of the basket ingredients was "black chicken". This was before we got chickens. Ken looked at the screen and almost gagged!

I loved the reactions on that Chopped.

With their small size, silkie noodle soup is usually what I do. I rather like the color difference between the meat and noodles. It does fade a bit with long boiling.

I have a confession..............

I am a chickaholic.............

But I have to admit that the first time I butchered a silky cross cockerel, the skin color didn't bother me; but when I pulled out the guts and they were 'blue' and then I realized the meat was also blue............well the dog ate THAT one.......

Since then I have realized the 'darker meat chickens' really do taste good! Like someone else mentioned earlier, they are excellent with noodles in soup. I like to add celery, carrots and garlic.
