Arizona has quite a story behind her. Thrown in my yard as a chick to be attacked by my other chickens. (For the entertainment of brats in the neighborhood) I raised her up very friendly and sweet (for a Redhead) Her sister Dakota joined us 30 minutes later. I brooded them in the house and trained them (that life isn’t as cruel as they were meant to believe) baby picture:View attachment 2935448
That's so sweet! You've always rescued chickens, apparently (recently those of the neighbor who threw them over the fence)

Do you have plans for another run extension enclosing the stump? Or planting a bush next to the stump for new shade/shelter?
I want to plant another tree but there is no space. I need to plant something that will generate shade and cover.

I'm wondering - do you still like watching someone work their way through? I'm pretty far back and don't want to clog up the thread too much.
I know that I love it. Brings back memories for me. Feel free to post.

Hattie has such a sweet face! (Or had, I guess. I haven't seen her mentioned lately.)
A lavender Orpington is high on my wish list when building projects are complete.
Everything about Hattie is sweet. Here is my favorite Hattie photo.

I am excited to do Twofer Tuesday for the first time!
Here's my buff Orpington Jane and her (usually) friend Abigail dust bathing together.
After that is the queen dust bathing alone. I tell her you have to be a friend to have a friend. She says she doesn't need no stinking friends.
Last is my poor Louisa, who is allowed to observe the dust bath but not participate in the vicinity.
That's not their coop, in the background, that is the original prefab coop for Mirabel and two Polish which is now used for the nest boxes and to perch on and poop on. That's about all it's good for anyway.
I love seeing them dustbathing. 🥰
