Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Today, I finally recieved the classic, "Don't you need a rooster to get eggs?" when I told my firend I was rehoming my roosters.

That video shows the reason with i got my hens. i dont want to be part of the problem and I want to know how my chickens are treated. .I try to provide for their needs so they have a happy life.
healthy eggs from happy hens. The bonus was I fell in love with them.

I thought videos like that where not allowed to be mentioned here because they where considered controversial or politically charged and not allowed. but I could be wrong. I just don't watch them because I know they show suffering some are legit. some are staged and I would rather focus on the positive instead of being drawn into the mess.

Ugh, we live about an hour drive from a Tyson processing plant. I hate driving by there, it makes me so sad....You guys should really read Animals Make us Human, it has a really sad chapter on the poultry industry (psst, McDs).

I had a teenage girl tell me that she was a vegetarian and therefor couldn't eat eggs because they "are baby chickens!" Ok, to each their own but...to be clear I explained that my eggs were unfertilized and would never be a baby. I got a blank stare and then "they are ALL babies and it's wrong to kill them.

To me that assumption is like saying a woman who has a period every month is performing a self-abortion...just sayin...

Most teenage girls mean about .00000000005% of what they say, the rest is either meant to A, make them fit in or B, make them sound smart.

Lots of people are saying that now, I mean, backyard eggs or farm-raised chicken eggs are SO much better than the eggs that come from abused hens who live in poop infested cages! Those eggs are just washed and stuck in a carton, and ours come from happy healthy chickens!

I looked at this video on Youtube and it just shocked me, I'm NEVER eating store bought eggs again! All eggs come from chicken butts, unless some people would like to eat plastic Easter eggs for breakfast!

Show THAT to your friend and see what she thinks!

Sorry if I seem tempered, I just don't like people like that, I bet that any one of us would pull an egg from the vent if we had too! And they wont even eat the beautiful, mouthwatering eggs?! That's CRAZY!

This is why I have my own chickens, raise and hunt most of my own food.
