:) I boxed up some of my girls eggs and proudly delivered them around to some friends and relatives. Most were thrilled but one aunt refused them and looked digusted! She said, 'I'm sorry but I cant eat these - I know where they come from - chickens!'
Are people crazy??????!!!!! LOL

All righty, then.

Quote: I had to give my younger relatives and their parents some schooling about animals that lay eggs....AFTER they took a trip to the ed. farm.

Lady (I'm really not sure how she was related to me.....): What animal lays eggs?
little kids: CHICKENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lady: That's right!
Me: Do any of you know what OTHER animals lay eggs?
little kids: Ummmm, CHICKENS!
Me: Do ducks lay eggs?
little kids: NOOO!
Me: Yes they do, just like chickens!
Lady: Don't tell them that!!! Ducks DO NOT lay eggs!!!!!!!!
Me: Umm, where do you think ducklings come from?
Lady: I don't know. I guess the ducks give birth.

That Easter Bunny confuses kids around the world. How do you explain to a 4 year old that rabbits DO NOT lay eggs? lol

I always knew all birds laid eggs. I thought it was a given? Does Big Bird teach kids nothing now?!

Besides the alphabet? No. I do hope they know that wild birds (robin, sparrow, finches, doves, hawks, eagles, etc. etc. etc.) lay eggs.

I have had a couple of people say is there baby chicks inside the eggs.
Pertaining to the broilers, my DIL was telling people that she would never eat any of our broilers as they stay in their own poop and it contaminates them, goes up inside of them and they have diseases. Come on now, dirt floor, 4" plus of bedding, Sweet PDZ stirred in once a week, doesn't smell at all. Give me a break.

Ummm, does she know what the chickens she buys at the store were living in? Stepping in a little poop every once in awhile is NOTHING compared to ammonia burns, feather loss, and dehydration! Your broilers=kings compared to what commercial broilers will go through. And as far as poop going inside them........I really don't know what to say.........THEY ARE NOT SPONGES! is the best I've got......
