Dummy eggs, when to remove?

My question(s) is...how many? Should every box have one or two? Should it be more random with a couple in one and none in the next?

I put one in each box.

And I never underestimate a bird's desire to show me I'm not in charge by laying out in the woods. My wooden eggs stay in the boxes permanently.
