separating the flock when the genders get too far off is only possible when you've got an enormous amount of space and a buttload of time on your hands - it's not feasible for most backyard/hobby keepers. Culling IS a possibility, it's just not a desirable one. But when you choose to hatch your own or buy unsexed thats a responsibility you need to take on, just like its your responsibility to not release animals you dont want anymore into the wild. The way to get around having to cull males is to buy sexed adults. It's not as cute, but that's the solution for those unwilling to cull and unable to find homes.
