Dungeons and Dragons chat thread! NOT an active game.

Oh lord, I grew up in the SCA. XD I know WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much about re-enactment... Including its pitfalls. 😬😬😬 But hey if you're looking for a group of huge nerds, here we are....

I has't a big announcement, i may not beest on f'r a few days, because i might not but gain comput'r usage controleth, i desire thee all und'rstand.
this is f'r mine own owneth valorous.

(I have a big announcement, I may not be on for a few days, because I must gain computer usage control, I hope you all understand.
This is for my own good.)

Have given my players a dozen opportunities to either A) bring an army to or B) run from a CR16 fight at level 6. To the point that an NPC told them to run away. They fighting. Good thing I have a back up plan for player deaths. XD

I have never once backed down from a fight in a DnD game....never gotten to the point where the universe was telling me to run, though. I haven't lost a character but I did almost die once. Thank god for our cleric.

Yeah, so, they know that they're fighting a literal god.
They know there's an army of expert god killers in the area that they didn't bring
They know there's a different army in a fortified city near by that are going to be confronting the gods small army in battle, and didn't try to lure it there
They know there's a fleet of pirates who owe them a favor that helped them kill their last god-like being that they didn't contact
They know there's potentially opposing civilizations they didn't contact
They have had multiple ancient beings and rulers tell them that what they're fighting is a creature most powerful and terrifying that it would destroy entire armies, to the point of being compared to atomic bombs OOC.
They know it's got magic powerful enough to control a literal army of undead from 100 miles away and influence every natural living creature in an entire swamp.
A powerful immortal NPC tactician told them at the beginning of the fight that they couldn't win and to run.

And they wanna fight it face to face. :p Oops.

Not sure how much more obvious about it I could be. XD

Holy s**t. How high are their intelligence scores again? (characters, not players lol)

To be fair! They had reasons for each one. XD

The god killers are SUUUUUPER sus
The local army had its own problem with the undead army attacking it
The pirates were hard to contact and would have cost an arm and a leg
They promised someone not to start a civil war by involving the other civilizations
They have a god that told them to go kill it so they figured they should go do that and not run away

But I *do* feel like they're in for a wake up call soon. :p It probably won't be a TPK, but I have a specific plan if they start to die out.

Well when you say it like that......
