i got find the the reason ,before i lose any more.

How old are your broilers?

They usually don't roost - especially on higher roosts and when they get big. Also, they're known for heart failure and not doing well in hot weather. It could be that it just died during the night.

Regardless, I'm sorry you lost one! That was surely a disturbing thing to find this morning!

A rat, weasle, opposum, or even a racoon could climb an 8ft fence. Is the top of the fence covered? How secure is your coop? Was the coop door open or closed?

I doubt your chickens killed the broiler.

I can't really say how old they are,,they were pretty big tho, probly 4 to 5 lbs.yes that was a crude site, jus glad my baby girl wasn't with me at the time, cause they are her ''kids''she say.

well the top of the holding pen is open, and i leave the coop door open 24/7,the chickens have been in the same place for their whole life (oldest hen is 4 an one hella egg layer still),i've never had a problem with predators till today,so i'm assuming what ever got it, had to come over the fence, an come in the coop lastnight,
REALLY, a RAT will kill a chicken did not know that!!

If one dies and no one is there to remove the body, eventually the others will begin to pick at it and yes, they will consume it.

Hard to say what happened, really, but broilers are born to die, and die they will if they are not processed by a certain age. It's rare they live very long.

My two cents, cover the top of your coop. I made that mistake once and wound up with five dead chickens from a bobcat. And I live in the city.
