Hello all. I have 5 week chicks and they are trying to dust bath in the pine shavings i have them set up in. They are in my front room currently. I have beach sand and didn’t know if this is something I can use for dust bath or should I add dirt or peat moss? Our soil is clay so,it is hard to go dig up something from outside. Thank you for your help!

Can I ask a question here. I picked up 2 barred rocks yest. I put them in with 5 chicks my daughter brought home from TSC on 4/20. They seem to be getting along fine. i mean they aren't getting pecked on. Is this ok to mix different ages together ? Also I am in Indianapolis IN. We're having a bit of a cold snap but generally we are anywhere from 60 to 70 degrees right now. The chicks are in the garage with a heat lamp but need to move them. I have a vinyl shed outback I can run the heat lamp to and can close the doors. Would they be ok in their pen out there ?

I forgot the pic

A little sand or dirt (like plain top soil, not potting soil) is fine. I provide my birds with peat moss for bathing in since it's easy to get and light and fluffy in texture.

Can I ask a question here.
