My chickens each have their favorite dust-bathing spots in the yard when the weather is warm, but should I provide a dust-bath in their run or house during the winter? If yes, what's the best dust-bathing medium to provide for them? They like sand or loose soil normally, but is there something better?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Decided to go ahead and put some sand in a plastic tub for them.

That's the perfect winter dust bath for them. The nice thing about it to, is you can sprinkle a little DE in it to keep mites away.
That way, they keep themselves pest free!
