Thanks!

Easier than chopping is to use a grater! I've been feeding my 6 week olds boiled eggs since they were almost 3 weeks old. They get soooo excited when they see me coming with the white styro plate.

I use the mini food processor, love it! Oh, I also drop in bugs/grubs when I find them in the garden-yum.

Also forgot to mention that I throw crumbles in there too.

Mine dust bathe in their crumbles. When the feeder is low and has about half crumbles and half bedding in it, I just dump it in the brooder. First they're afraid of it (silly things) and then they peck at it, and then they bum-rush it, and someone starts scratching at it, and then it's getting kicked around, and then someone gets the bright idea to lay down and thrash in it. It's pretty funny, and it keeps them busy AND fed for an hour or more!

I was told by one of the hatcheries that chicks can eat the whole egg, but the yolk is the part with the nutrition that they need. I also got a suggestion from someone that you should only feed cooked eggs to them because you do not want them to get a taste for raw eggs. (They could crack and eat their own eggs or others later if they acquire a taste for it.)
