Dust baths

No clue what forum this should go on but I think this one was ok for my question. In the run we have a place that has de and the chickens have been using it. Recently we covered the garden they were in so we have been letting them out. Checked on my chickens and a bunch were laying down in a container that had dirt in it because it previously had onions in it. Is that ok or should I add something other than dirt to it??

Plain dirt is just fine, nothing needs to be added to it.
