We have 4 dutch bantams, 2 5 week olds from Ideal, and 2 2 week olds we hatched ourselves. Of the 2 older guys, King Leo is much larger, with a more upright tail. Just assumed this was the male. Baby Binky was much smaller and very noisy. Well looking at them now, King leo has less coloration, and his hackel feathers appear to be more rounded. Baby Binky's are pointed and he/she is looking more colorful around the neck. Binky is a lot 40% smaller than Leo. Just wondering if anyone has raised Dutch Bantams... are the males this tiny?
As for my hatchlings, again, the smaller noisy one, Chibi, has been dubbed the pullet. We are assuming that the other, Calico is the cockeral. Guess time will tell with those 2!! They are really sweet little birds
