Dutch Bantams Breed Thread

Pics
My avatar is my first Bantam. He has certainly grown from this picture . He is Dutch and is marked like a Dominique but with yellow and red spots on a black field. He is a true pet sitting on my head or shoulder and the back of my sheltie. He is quite the clown.I have two more babies that are like him and two blues. I really would love to have a bantam Dutch Lavender and a Porcelain. ( please for give the spelling. ) I am trying to learn the new words.

Forgive me but on looking closely at these pictures Darth seems to be a young Dutch his seams slicker and thinner than the rest. and he has an expression that my kiddo picture has some times. Mine came from Jim a local breeder who helped import some of the first Dutch to America.

I was out taking pictures today and 'Spot' kept cutting me off. The smaller they are the more attitude they have. Spot is a whopping 14 ounces, so he is really full of himself. He is not aggresive. He just wanted to see if I had treats, which I didn't.

Spot is a Cream Light Brown Dutch Cock. He is 2.5 years old. Last year his coloring was nicer, but this year he has a lot of coloring bleeding down into his chest. I assume it will be worse each year he molts. He also has some scaring on his ear lobes. He keeps trying to 'dance' for the big laying hens and some of them are rather aggresive about who 'dance' for them.

Yes, unfortunately, the spotting on the breast will get worse as your bird gets older (I used to breed Dutch, don't have them any more, but couldn't resist this thread when I saw it.)

I just won these two in a feed store raffle- they were donated by a local poultry club. I was just wondering about their coloring and quality...any thoughts?

Do you want an evaluation of them with regards to your ability to show them in an ABA-APA sanctioned show?

Well, I've never shown chickens, so that may be a bit premature though I'd like to do so in the future. Mostly I wanted to know what color they would fall into? They have some beige to them and some black spotting.
